DU LLB 2020: About

DU LLB 2020 Application Form has been Postponed. DU LLB is referred to as Delhi University LLB Entrance Exam which is conducted by the National Testing Agency. Delhi University conducts DU LLB Entrance Exam to select the candidate for admission in LLB programs offered by it.

Plans offered at Faculty of Law are LLB, LLM (2 years) and LLM (3 years). To get admission to LLM course candidates need to appear for the DU LLM entrance exam and have to score qualifying marks.

Currently, the university has three participating institutes (or centres) – CLC, LC1, and LC2 – with a combined strength of 2922 seats. DU LLB 2020 exam will be conducted in around 18 cities; in Delhi/NCR city, the test will be conducted in eight centres. The entrance test of DU LLB 2020 will consist of 100 questions each question will carry one mark. Candidates will be given a duration of 2 hours to attempt the test. DU LLB 2020: Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for LLB Admissions

(i) For Unreserved Category candidates: Graduate/Post-Graduate Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate in either of them.

(ii) For Other Backward Classes (OBC) Category candidates: Graduate/Post-Graduate Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi with at least 45% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate in either of them.

(iii) For Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe (SC/ST) Category candidates, Graduate/Post-Graduate Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi with at least 40% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate in either of them.

(iv) Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates will be allowed to widows/wards of defence personnel (CW) category.

(v) Relaxation of up to 5% marks in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates will be allowed to the candidates belonging to Person with Disability (PwD) category.

Note: (a) The candidates securing marks prescribed above or appearing in the qualifying Degree examination or awaiting the results of any such examination are eligible to appear in the LL.B. Entrance Test 2018 but the admission will depend on their securing the minimum prescribed eligibility marks.

 (b) Rounding of a fraction of marks is not allowed.

(c) No candidate on the rolls of LL.B. of any University including University of Delhi shall be allowed to take admission in the LL.B. Course irrespective of whether the candidate is an ex-student or regular in that University. Any candidate who had taken admission in any University including Delhi University LL.B. course may take the admission only if they have cancelled their admission in that University on the date of their admission in University of Delhi.

Eligibility for LLM Admissions

The admission to LL.M. Course shall be made on the basis of merit in the LL.M. Entrance Test 2018. There shall be an Entrance Test for LL.M. The date of LL.M. Entrance Test shall be notified on the University website by the Central Admission Committee of the University of Delhi. 

(i)  For Unreserved (UR) category candidates, a three-year/five-year LL.B. Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate.

(ii)  For Other Backward Classes (OBC) category candidates, a three-year/five-year LL.B. Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi with at least 45% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate.

(iii) The candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST), widows/wards of ex-servicemen/serving personnel (CW) category and Person with Disability (PwD) category having a three year/five-year LL.B. Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi with at least 45% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate in either of them.

DU LLB 2020: Application Process

Delhi University was supposed to release the application form of DU LLB 2020 in online mode on April 2, but it has got delayed due to some reasons. The DU LLB 2020 application form can be filled till April 30. The application filling process will include steps like registration, filling of applicant details, entering of contact and education details, uploading of documents and payment of fees. Please note that the application process will be complete only after payment of the application fee, which can be paid through online mode.

Steps to fill DU LLB application form:

  1. Registration – In this section candidate will be required to provide name, contact information, email id.
  2. Filling of applicant details – The DU LLB application form can be filled by providing relevant details such as personal information, address of communication and permanent address, category of the candidate and other such details as asked.
  3. Uploading of documents – Upload a passport size photo and signature in JPG and JPEG format, within the given size limits.
  4. Filling of contact details and education details – Candidates needs to provide the details of educational qualification along with the detailed contact information.
  5. Payment of application fee – The DULLB application form fees can be paid in online mode, using net banking/credit card/debit card facilities. The fees amount varies for candidates belonging to different categories, the details of which are given below.

DU LLB 2020: Result

The exam conducting body (NTA) will declare the result of DU LLB 2020 on June 25; it would be available in both consolidated and individual form. The combined result would be available in the form of downloadable PDFs. To download the combined DU LLB 2020 result, one simply needs to click on the result link; no login is required. After downloading the combined result, candidates need to search for their name, roll or form number. However, to check individual result of DU LLB, the candidate will have to go to NTA result portal and login using application form number and date of birth.

DU LLB 2020: Cutoff

Delhi University will release the category-wise cutoff of DU LLB 2020 at the time of counselling and seat allotment. The DU LLB 2020 cutoff is typically the last score or rank for which admission is offered. So any candidate who scores below the cutoff score (or rank), he/she will not be considered for admission. Candidates can check the cutoff of DU LLB for previous years from the table below, until the cutoff for the current session is made available. Note that the cutoff varies every year depending on factors like the number of applicants, sanctioned seats, the performance of applicants in DU LLB 2020 exam, etc.
