E-FILING AND VIDEO CONFERENCE ENABLED FOR CASE HEARINGS BY ORISSA HC DURING NATIONAL LOCKDOWN

Owing to a national lockdown and consideration for adopting precautionary measures with regards to the COVID -19 outbreak, the Orissa High court has enabled E- filing and Video conferencing scheme for better disposal of cases and justice.

The petition or applications in soft copy can be sent via email to efilingohc@gmail.com in scanned format. The matters will be heard through Video conferencing and the government has also suggested the usage of apps like Zoom and Vidyo.

The procedure of filing involves fairly simple and less cumbersome steps which are as follows:

  • The parties are to submit the signed copies of petitions and applications to the designated id of the party, Advocate general and Assistant solicitor general. The Parties will be required to submit the original documents after the normalcy of the present situation.
  • By specifying the nature of extremely urgent matters, parties can send their memos via email (drj.od-hc@gov.in) to Judicial Deputy magistrate. The concerned Advocate will be notified and will have to submit all the scanned case documents.
  • Afterwards, the securitizing court staff will inform the concerned parties about the defects and can be corresponded at  scrutinyefiling@gmail.com.

Procedure for case hearing is as follows:

  • The Video conference hearing will be held via Vidyo or Zoom application and some urgent matters can be heard through Whatsapp video conferencing.
  •  Login details for VC will only be sent through email and the recording of court hearings will be strictly prohibited.
  • If due to technical issue any Advocate is not able to appear for the hearing, the case stands adjourned.
  • In case of problems with VC hearing , the parties may inform on this no. 9437900550 and this shall be effective from 9th April 2020.
