About ULSAT 2020 (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies)
University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) Dehradun will conduct the computer based test (CBT) UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (ULSAT) 2020 from May 8-15, 2020. ULSAT 2020 is conducted for offering admissions to five-year integrated law programmes namely B.Sc.L.L.B, B.Tech L.L.B, B.Com L.L.B, B.A L.L.B and B.B.A L.LB. The admission to 5-year integrated law programmes at UPES Dehradun is also done without taking ULSAT 2020. Admission through the non-exam route is done either through Class 12 board merit, CLAT merit or LSAT India merit scores wherein around 20% of the seats are offered through this route. However, candidates need to meet the basic eligible criteria set by the university. Direct admission through the non-exam route would also involve GD-PI process.
The application form ULSAT 2020 has begun on September 6, 2019; last date to submit completed ULSAT applications is May 3, 2020.

Eligible applicants can fill ULSAT application form from September 6, 2019 onwards. The application fee can be paid through DD or any other online payment mode as per the convenience.
ULSAT 2020 Exam Pathway
Non-Exam Pathway
“For BA LLB (Hons)/ BBA LLB (Hons)/ B. Com, LLB (Hons)/B.Sc LLB (Hons) – Candidates with minimum 50% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th) and CLATAIR ranking up to 10000/ L-SAT India Percentile of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from UPES Law Studies Aptitude test and will be invited directly for GD and Interview.”
For BA LLB (Hons)/ BBA LLB (Hons)/B. Com LLB (Hons)/B.Sc LLB (Hons)-
For BA LLB (Hons)/ BBA LLB (Hons)/B. Com LLB (Hons)/B.Sc LLB (Hons) Candidates with minimum 85% marks in 10th and 12th main five subjects (English as one of the compulsory paper) are exempted from UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (UL-SAT) and will be invited directly for GD and Interview.
For B.Tech LLB (Hons)-
For B.Tech LLB (Hons) Candidates with minimum 70% marks in 10th, 12th and 12th PCM (Physics, Chemistry &Maths) are exempted from UPES-EAT and admissions will be through Merit Ranking.
ULSAT Application Form 2020 – Steps to fill
The online application form of ULSAT 2020 will be filled in 5 stages, as mentioned below.
Registration – First of all candidates need to register online by entering their mobile number and email ID, as a registration ID and password will be sent on the email ID and phone number. It must be noted that the email ID and mobile number must be valid as all the further communication will be done the registered email and phone number only.
Log In – Once the candidates get the registration done, they have to log in using the log in ID and password sent to their email ID.
Fill the Application Form – In this stage of ULSAT application form 2020, candidates have to enter other details like parents name, educational qualification, etc.
Upload Photograph and Signature – At this stage, candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature as per the prescribed size and dimension.
Fee Payment – Candidates have to choose the fee payment option (Online) from the ULSAT 2020 application form and pay Rs. 1350 as fee using credit card, debit card and net banking.
Note: For their future reference, candidates can keep a printout of the filled in application form.
ULSAT 2020 Exam Pattern
ULSAT 2020 will be held in computer-based test (CBT) (or online) mode. Candidates will have to answer 150 questions in 3 hours. All the questions are objective in nature and candidates have to select the correct answer option out of the available. 1 mark will be given for each correct answer, while there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. This means that candidates will be allotted marks out of a total of 150. The questions are asked from Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Quantitative & Numerical Ability, Legal General Knowledge and Legal Aptitude.
ULSAT 2020 Result
The result of ULSAT 2020 will be announced in online mode in June. Through ULSAT result 2020, candidates will get their ranks and marks scored in the exam. A merit list will be prepared based on candidate’s marks in ULSAT result. As per the merit list, candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. Check more details below.

ULSAT 2020 Selection Process
ULSAT selection procedure 2020 includes qualifying ULSAT exam or direct admission through the non-exam route wherein candidates are offered admission on the basis of Class 12 Board Merit, CLAT Merit or L-SAT India Merit scores. Around 20% of the seats are offered through the non-exam route. Candidates taking admission through exam route (ULSAT) will have to appear in group discussion and interview. For the group discussion and interview, candidates will be called on the basis of their rank in the merit list. The GD and Interview will take place at different venues in the country.
ULSAT 2020 GD and PI Process
The group discussion and interview will be held in June wherein candidates have to appear in the same at different venues – Lucknow, Mumbai, Delhi, Patna, Jaipur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Dehradun and Chandigarh.
