National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore has again topped the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) rating of top law schools in the country.
While apart from NLSIU the next three remain same as the last year’s rankings, National Law University, Delhi, National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) Hyderabad, and Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur are ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.
There has been but little change in the top ten this year. National Law University, Jodhpur has climbed into the top five while West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) Kolkata has come down to sixth rank.
The top ten law schools as per NIRF 2020 rankings:
Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) has gone up to seventh, from being ninth last year. The other law schools in the top ten are- Faculty of Law, Jamia Milia Islamia; Symbiosis Law School, Pune; and Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala.

The NIRF 2020 have this year listed the top 20 law schools, as opposed to the top 15 last year.
A total of 97 law schools had taken partin this year’s survey conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
