2270 Cases settled in India’s very first E-Lok Adalat in Chhattisgarh HC

On Saturday, Country’s first ever e-Lok Adalat was organized by the Chhattisgarh High Court and the State Legal Services Authority amid the restricted judicial functioning

Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court,Justice P R Ramachandra Menon inaugurated the session.

This e-Lok Adalat has been termed as the first such initiative in the country.

With video conferencing about 195 benches were constituted at different places of the state, including remote areas like Sarguja, Kanker, Bastar, Surajpur etc. In a single day through virtual mode, 3135 cases were identified for compromise and 2270 cases were settled.

Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, Executive Chairman of SLSA, Chhattisgarh presided the inaugural ceremony.Other than him, High Court judges Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastav (Chairman computerization committee) and GoutamBhaduri(Chairman of HCLSC) also graced their  presence.

With the joint efforts of Mr. Shabuddin Queshi CPC, High court, Mr. Siddharth Aggarwal, Member secretary, SLSA and entire team of DLSAs across Chhattisgarh, the e-LokAdalat was held.
