The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has notified the guidelines for the third phase of lifting the COVID-19 lockdown or Unlock-3 which will come into effect from August 1. One of the pertinent changes in Unlock 3 is the removal of night curfew that was in place till now.
Outside of the containment zones, the MHA has now allowed for the reopening of more activities which includes the opening of yoga institutes and gyms from August 5. The reopening of these activities will, however, be subject to the SOP to be issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
Schools, colleges, and educational institutes will continue to remain shut till August 31 and a prohibition on the operation of metros, cinema theatres, entertainment facilities, bars, auditoriums etc. continues to be imposed.
The impending Independence Day celebrations in the month of August have been allowed albeit while ensuring that all safety measures are followed. International travel, as of now, is permitted through the Vande Bharat mission and further reopening will take place in a calibrated manner.
