CBI Registers FIR Against Rhea Chakraborty And 5 Others in Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Actress Rhea Chakraborty and five family members in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.

The case will be investigated by a team headed by Anil Kumar Yadav, SP, CBI.

The other accused name in the FIR are Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi.

On July 25, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father had lodged a complaint at the Rajeev Nagar Police Station in Patna against Chakraborty and five others. On the same day, the police lodged an FIR for an investigation into offences allegedly committed under 306 (abetment of suicide), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 120B (Criminal Conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code. Rajput’s father had alleged that Rhea abetted suicide of his actor son.

Later, Bihar Government’s recommendation for a CBI probe in this case was accepted by the Centre.

The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, had refused to grant a stay in Rhea’s plea seeking transfer of an FIR filed against her from Patna to Mumbai in Sushant Singh Rajput case and the stay on the investigation by the Bihar police.
