About the Seminar
Mediation as a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution System is being increasingly used in the commercial sector at national and international level because it is relatively cheap, less time consuming and settles dispute in a consensual manner as opposed to the interminable, time consuming and expensive litigation procedures. However mediation not being a statutory process, posses its own challenges in the spheres of legal recognition of the settlements and the authority of the mediators. With a view to understand thoroughly the principles, procedures and challenges of these justice delivery mechanisms, SLLA is conducting a One Day International Seminar on ‘Litigation v. Mediation: India and Bangladesh Experience’ on 28th May, 2021, 11 a.m. IST.
About the Chief Guest and Hon’ble Speaker
The Hon’ble Speaker for the International Seminar is Justice Halim Abdulla. He is the Judge of District and Sessions Court at Bangladesh. He is also An ADR Specialist and Trainer. He is a Senior Fellow at Weinstein International Foundation, United States of America. He is also the Chairman of Bangladesh International Mediation and Arbitration Centre (BIMAC).
