About the National Essay Writing Competition
Lloyd Law College invites the youth of India to participate in the National Level Essay Writing Competition, ‘Quarantine Diaries: Pen down in Lockdown’ National Essay Writing Competition, 2020.The world has come to a standstill due to Covid-19 and almost everyone including students are confined to their homes. This essay writing competition provides a unique opportunity to write down their views on topics of humanitarian concerns. The college has always motivated young talent and this essay competition too is a small step towards bringing change through the voice of the youth.
About the Organisation
Lloyd Law College, a premier national education institution, has been offering legal education since 2003 in affiliation with CCS University, Uttar Pradesh, and approved by the Bar Council of India. The College offers BA. LL.B (5years) integrated program as well as LL.B (3years) as a part of its undergraduate program. The college, in association with the University of Buckingham, has recently introduced the “LL.M. in International & Commercial Law” for Indian/SAARC students.Lloyd has worked towards the growth, development and formation of generation of students to inculcate intellectual genius, moral consciousness and social responsibility to ensure the Rule of law, not just locally but also propagating it globally and thereby, has brought social, political and economic change. Lloyd Law College believes in disseminating legal knowledge in a resourceful way to prepare students for a variety of legal and law related careers.
Eligibility
The competition is organised for all students aged between 16 -24 years of age. The competition is divided into 3 categories:

Theme of Essays
The main objective of this essay writing competition is to view the thoughts, feelings and opinions of youth on the humanitarian and socio economic sphere, amidst the crisis. 4 topics are provided to each category. The details of the topics are available in the brochure.
Prizes
The 3 best entries in each category will be awarded with cash prizes which are totally worth of Rs 50,000.Scholarship shall be awarded to the authors of top 10 essays in each category in Lloyd Law College.E-Certificate of Participation shall be provided to all participants.
Submission Guidelines
The essays must be submitted in English only.The essays should be the original work of the authors.Any kind of plagiarism will lead to disqualification.The essays published elsewhere or selected/submitted for publication elsewhere shall be disqualified.The name of the author should not be mentioned anywhere in the essay.The word limit for the essay will be in strict accordance with category word limit, not including footnotes.The essays should be typed in Times New Roman, Font Size 12 and Line Spacing 1.5, justified.The footnotes must be typed in Times New Roman, Font Size 10 and Line Spacing 1.The margins should be 1” or 2.54 cm on all sides.Every citation must follow the Bluebook, 20th Edition.Only sole authorship is allowed.
Submissions Procedure
The essays must be sent by email to lec@lloydlawcollege.edu.in with the subject line ‘Quarantine Diaries: Pen-down in Lockdown’ National Essay Writing Competition, 2020.The body of the e-mail must specify the name of the author.The essay must be attached in ‘.doc’ or ‘.docx’ & pdf format.The files must be named with the Author’s Name_Category chosen.
The participants are required to send the following details in a separate word document attached to the e-mail:(i) Name of the Author(ii) Category Chosen(iii) Title of the Essay(iv) School/ College/Institute/University of Author(v) Programme Enrolled / Last Class attended in (year)(vi) E-mail address & Contact No. of Author
