The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for the year 2020 has been postponed yet again in wake of the extension of the national lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The last date of the application has been extended to July 1. A notification has been issued to this extent. As per the notification, candidates will be given at least 21 days’ notice prior to the exam. This means that the exam will tentatively take place at the end of July.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the NLU Consortium held today. There will be more clarity as regards the date of CLAT 2020 after the Consortium’s next meeting, scheduled to take place on July 1.

The exam was originally going to be held on May 10, and was initially postponed to May 24. However, due to the extension of the national lockdown, it was yet again scheduled to be held on June 21.
