The Debate & Discussion Society (DDS), Campus Law Centre is a unique forum that promotes free thought and exchange of opinions. When the discussion is the ethos of an institution, DDS forms a natural facilitator of that spirited culture. The DDS hosts a plethora of events covering various facets of the art of debate and discussion with an aim to provide ideas and expressions a platform they rightly deserve. Campus Law Centre (CLC) of the Faculty of Law offers a full-time three-year LL.B. programme. It has consistently been ranked among the top law schools in India and has been ranked second in the country by the India Today-Nielson survey of 2016.
Quality teaching, moot-court competitions, campus placements, legal-aid services, and regular talks and discussions by experts from academia and industry are some of the features which have established Campus Law Centre as a Centre of Excellence. To facilitate a ‘case study’ teaching methodology, each student is provided an updated study material with relevant court judgments and reading material pertinent to each subject.
Event Details
COURTROOM LEGENDS – Keynote Series, is an initiative by Debate & Discussions Society, Campus Law Centre where you get to learn and interact with Legendary Counsels who have mastered the craft of advocacy. This event is the 3rd Episode of this Keynote Series. Former Solicitor General of India, Sr. Advocate Shri. Mohan Parasaran will be delivering a Keynote in the 3rd Episode of COURTROOM LEGENDS.
Topic of Keynote:
“Evolution of Constitutional Law by Supreme Court of India”
The Keynote address will be followed by a moderated Q&A session.
About the Keynote Speaker
The event will be graced by the presence of Shri Mohan Parasaran.
Shri. Mohan Parasaran is a Senior Advocate & Former Solicitor General of India. He has a large number of landmark cases under his belt like Reliance Gas Dispute, Niyamgiri Mining Case, Kundankulam Nuclear Power Plant PIL and constitutional validity of the MPLADS scheme and others. He has also successfully appeared in International Taxation matters including the levy of tax against MNCs like Vodafone, Sanofi, Idea Cellular and others.
Currently he is representing:
(i) Tata Group in Tata-Cyrus Mistry matter
(ii) Petitioners challenging amendments to SC&ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989
(iii) State of Tamil Nadu in Jallikattu case
(iv) Mahants of Puri Mutts in Puri Mutts Demolition Case
