About Dweebs Global

Dweebs Global (www.dweebsglobal.org) is an international nonprofit foundation created to meet the pressing needs of those affected economically and mentally in these trying times. Millions of people are unemployed, struggling, or just need advice and psychological counselling

due to the stress and hardships of COVID-19. Working alongside trained and vetted mental health professionals, career counsellors, and domain experts, our organization provides one-on-one mentorship, advice, and counselling absolutely FREE, without any barriers, via video conferencing and other means.

Dweebs Global has a vibrant team from people around the world who you will get to interact with as an intern. In addition, our Press team works across multiple of the projects Dweebs Global works on in countries around the world, so you will gain practical experience in building media coverage for various kinds of projects based in multiple media markets.

About the internship

As part of the Dweebs Global Press Team, you’ll work with an international team to raise awareness and liaise with the media on behalf of our global nonprofit. Your role will include planning media strategy for interviews, inviting reporters to Dweebs events, and gaining coverage for a variety of Dweebs projects on everything from mental health to fighting against child labor. You’ll also get the opportunity to learn how to write press releases and media pitches, as well as maintaining contact sheets and making followup pitch phone calls.

Our summer unpaid internships are conducted virtually – the internships are especially perfect for anyone who is looking to further develop their skills or gain valuable experience in their field while working for a global organization. In addition, your work through this internship will also make the world a better place by supporting our work to provide free services to thousands of people in need.
