Friends Beyond Species: Society for Advancement of Animal and Environmental Welfare in collaboration with Humane Society International – India is organizing a two-week Online Certificate Course on Animal Laws from 23rd March to 2nd April 2021.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
To create awareness amongst people about the legal regime surrounding animal welfare in India. Through the course, we further aim to educate members of the legal fraternity about the nuances of this field of law. We believe that this course shall enable us in creating individuals who shall act as agents in guaranteeing and protecting the rights of sentient beings. Additionally, given the limited knowledge that people have about this area of law, this course shall act as the perfect opportunity to ensure that an active engagement and deliberation takes place on pertinent issues concerning this area of law.
STRUCTURE OF THE ONLINE CERTIFICATE COURSE:
The Online Certificate course shall entail a detailed breakup of the jurisprudence surrounding animal laws and will be structured in a comprehensive manner to cover all the key concepts under the filed. The course structure will be created in consultation with Humane Society International – India and shall pan over a period of two weeks. The course will be conducted by eminent resource persons and experts from across the field of animal law.
Eligibility:
The Course shall be open to all law students and academicians who have an interest in animal welfare. All the participants shall be given a certificate of competition on attending all the classes and completing the concerned assignments successfully.
Duration:
The course shall for a total of 16-18 hours spread over 23 March – 2 April 2021 (excluding Sunday and Holi holiday).
Platform:
WebEx or any other convenient platform as provide by the University Administration.
