Legal Counsel,Lano, Remote(PQE 3-5 Years)

We are looking for a Legal Counsel with strong knowledge on EOR/Payroll industry to join our Legal team.

Your responsibilities

• Review, legally vet and amend client contracts and service agreements
• Work closely with the General Counsel and other departments
• Act as a resource and the primary legal contact for our Sales team
• Research and collaborate on additional legal topics and projects 
• Lano needs someone with extensive employment law knowledge and experience (experience with multiple jurisdictions and/or cross-border matters is preferred), including advising and supporting HR, drafting policies and employment agreements. Knowledge around immigration rules and regulations or employee benefits would be an added bonus.
• Additional responsibilities may include legal operations, corporate diligence support, contract creation, negotiation and execution; and developing organizational policies and procedures. In this role, you may touch all facets of law.

What you need to succeed

• LB/JD or equivalent law degree and qualification to practice law
• At least 3-5 years of experience in in-house legal roles with extensive experience in employment law
• Native level fluency in English, bonus if you’ve studied law in English
• Experience in contract law, negotiation and legal drafting
• Good understanding of Employer or Record model, payroll and data privacy
• Excellent attention to detail and very high level of diligence and accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-output, team-oriented, practical environment
• Prior experience in the EOR/payroll industry is a must

Our Mumbai office is on the lookout for Lawyers with 1/2 years PQE in Corporate/M&A matters with a reputed law firm. Main Accountabilities 

• Day-to-day preparation and analysis of decisions relating to US Copyrights. 
• Extracting legal information from IP case law based on the tree structure and encoding the information in the database. 
• Providing Feedback about any error/bugs in the system. 
• Conducting quality checks of work done by self to maintain high quality of analysis.  
• Attending meetings with the supervisors and following updates. 

Eligibility Criteria 

• The candidate must have a law degree. A candidate with a specialization in IP or having a diploma/certificate course in IPR in addition to the law degree is preferred.  
• Process know-how & hands-on experience in IP is preferable. 
• Reviewing complex written documents & encoding information therein. 
• Basic knowledge of Copyrights and IPR in general is a must. 
• Enjoy & Master reading skills in a particular legal text.

The Third-Party Due Diligence team is a part of the Forensics and Integrity Services (Forensics) provided by EY. It particularly investigates conducting background checks on the vendors or other affiliated parties of the clients in order to understand the risk involved while getting into possible business relations with such third parties. Educational Qualification Experience Essential –

(ii) Qualified to be registered as an advocate in any State Bar Council in India in terms of Advocates Act, 1961.
Desirable –

Experience in judicial or legal work, in Supreme Court, High Court or any other Court, Government or a Regulatory
Authority or a Tribunal or any similar forum; Or, Professor/Reader/Lecturer of Law of any recognized University/Professional Institute of India or abroad with specialization in teaching competition
law; Or, Legal Manager or above in the Corporate sector having experience or handling acquisitions, mergers and
amalgamations etc., under competition law.
