About the Society
The Society of International Law and its Affairs (SAIL) is a student-driven Committee at SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law created with a vision to acquaint the youth and legal fraternity with various events and affairs of the international arena encompassing International Law, Current Affairs, International Relations and helping in development of proficient skills amongst students. With this aim, SAIL is conducting a Lecture on ‘Space Laws and Dispute Resolutions’ by Mr. Arthad Kurlekar.
About the Lecture
SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law presents a Lecture on ‘Space Laws and Dispute Resolution’. In this lecture he will be covering first on the basic framework of outer space laws. He will then go in depth about the space treaties, principles and dispute resolution mechanisms within the treaties and touch upon certain concerns on dispute resolution of outer space specifically pertaining to investment treaties and disputes and space contracts. He will also be doing a case study on a inter-state space law dispute.
About the Lecturer
Mr. Arthad Kurlekar, an associate in the international arbitration and public international law at Curtis, Mallet-prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, a leading international law firm. Sir has also worked at permanent court of arbitration in The Hague. He has authored articles for numerous arbitration and dispute resolution journals.
Sir has completed his masters from CIDS Geneva centre for international dispute settlement and is an alumni of NUJS as well as Oxford university.
He is one of the pioneers in the field of international arbitration. His primary areas of focus also include international trade, law of the sea, law of international organizations and international sanctions.
