National Article Writing Competition, 2020: Samvidhi (Register by May 10th)

ABOUT THE NATIONAL ARTICLE WRITING COMPETITION

The primary objective, of the first edition of this particular article writing competition is to encourage law students across various colleges, through a quality contest to develop an original thought process and analysis, on important and contemporary socio-legal issues. The competition will be judges by professionals having expertise on the themes mentioned.

THEMES

1. The Power, Responsibilities and Limitations of Judiciary During a Health Emergency;
2. Human Rights in the Digital Age;
3. The Relationship between Stringency of Law and Deterrence in Crime.

ELIGIBILITY

Authors must be pursuing their 5-year integrated LL.B. (Hons.) course or 3-year LL.B. course from any recognised university in India, abroad for the academic year of 2019-2020, to be eligible to participate in the competition.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1. The word limit for the article is 1500-2000 words, inclusive of citations.
2. The body and endnotes of the article should have-
Font style: Times New Roman

Font Size: 12
Line Spacing: 1.5
Alignment: Justified
3. All the references could be hyperlinked within the text itself or duly acknowledged in the Endnotes. A uniform style of citation should be followed.
4. The articles must be submitted in .doc or .docx format.
5. The submissions have to be made by email to submission.samvidhi@gmail.com with the subject “Submission: National Article Writing Competition 2020”.
6. The manuscript must not contain any details about the authors or their institutional affiliations. Any kind of disclosures within the text shall lead to immediate disqualification of the article.
7. The body of the email shall specify the name(s) of the author(s), theme, title of the article, year of study (in the form- __/5, or __/3 for 5-years and 3-years course respectively), name of the college/university, e-mail address and contact number.

PRIZES

1. Cash Prize worth Rs. 3000 (1st position: Rs. 1500; 2nd and 3 rd position: Rs. 750)
2. Internship opportunity for the winners at the Chambers of AOR, Supreme Court;
3. Publication for top 7 entries;
4. Free publication of one paper in future in JLSR Journal (ISSN(O): 2582306X) for the Top 2;
5. Discount in online courses by Katcheri.in;
6. All the participants shall get an e-certificate.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Participation Fee: Rs. 100 (Single Authorship)
Rs. 150 (Co-authorship)

2. After the payment of fees, the author(s) needs to fill the google form here.
3. Deadlines: Last date for registration: 10 May, 2020.
Last date for submission: 15 May, 2020.
