1. The candidate should have “very good command over English language and should also have very good drafting skills”.
2. The Advocate should have clearly understood “the logic and reasoning” behind every law, which he/she claims to have practiced in during his/her tenure as an Advocate; and should be able to “decode the said provisions of law” when asked, (without referring to any books).
(For example if an Advocate claims in his/her resume that he/she was handling bail matters, then the candidate would be asked any question on bail which includes grounds on which bail is rejected, arguments which have to be captured in a bail application, Supreme Court Judgements to support their arguments, other alternatives which are available to the Accused besides bail etc. )
Similar questions would be asked to candidates practicing on Civil Side. They have to remember applicable provisions of Civil Procedure Code along with other relevant Acts.
3. The Candidate should essentially possess good leadership qualities.
4. He/she should be able to take full responsibility and accountability for all work undertaken.
5. He/she should be able to meet deadlines without excuses.
