About HPNLU
The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU, Shimla) was established by the State Government in the year 2016, by an act of the legislature (Act 16 of 2016). Located in the geographical terrains of the Himalayas, HPNLU, Shimla is the best place to study and learning in law, developing in students, understanding law and legal system, topographies of law-making, legal practice and administration. Under the academic and administrative leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nishtha Jaswal, the team HPNLU is committed to achieving new heights in law education.
About the Organisers
The Centre for Parliamentary Studies (CPS) is a specialised Centre, established by Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla to undertake studies related to the functioning of parliament. To find out the further concerns for research in parliamentary bodies, it is necessary to analyze the deliberations in the Parliament and its other institutions. Apart from their conventional roles parliamentarians in the present scenario, have various other functions to perform. The centre has the objective to promote parliamentary studies with special reference to its problems and processes
About the competition
The Centre for Parliamentary Studies (CPS), Himachal Pradesh National Law University is launching its first essay competition in 2021. The essay competition is an endeavour to enhance learning about the Contemporary Issues Involved in ‘Office of Profit in India’.
Theme
The essay writing competition will be held on the topic “Contemporary Issues involved in ‘Office of profit in India’.”Participants can take any particular sub-theme keeping intact with the central theme of the competition.
Eligibility
The competition is open to students pursuing UG/PG law courses in India.
Important Guidelines
All submissions are to be made through email at “cps@hpnlu.ac.in“.Submissions shall be in English, original, unpublished nor should they be in consideration for publication anywhere else at the same time and non-plagiarised with the maximum accepted similarity index being capped at 10%. A cover page should be attached including the Participant’s Name, Phone Number, Batch, Email Address, Title of the Essay and the Transaction ID of their registration along with the same details of the Co-author if and wherever applicable. Any kind of identification of the participants on the submission will lead to straight disqualification of the author/authors.
Important Dates
Last Date of Registration: 26th September 2021.
Last Date of Submission: 30th September 2021.
Result declaration: 1st Week of November 2021.
Registrations
Registration shall be made to Google Form here.
The registration fee is Rs. 500/- per person. Co-authorship is allowed up to a maximum of two authors. Multiple entries for individual orders are not allowed. A participant may submit an entry related to ONE sub-theme ONLY.
Prizes
1st prize: Rs 10,000/-
2nd prize: Rs 7,500/-3rd Prize: Rs 5,000/-Certificate of Appreciation: Top 10 Participants.
All participants who have successfully submitted the easy on or before September 30, 2021, shall be provided with an e-Certificate of participation.
