About the VIPS Law Blog
The VIPS Law Blog is an initiative by the Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS), VIPS seeks to host original contributions consisting of in-depth analysis and interpretation of legal issues and concepts. The mission of the blog is to promote academic scholarship through the development of legal reasoning and argumentation. The platform hopes to create an environment conducive to the exchange of opinion amongst law students, academicians, jurists, legal practitioners, and law and policy enthusiasts. We accommodate submissions that initiate, further, and transform discourse on matters of law.

About the Session
Legal Writing and Research are skills that all law students need in today’s day and age. In pursuance of the same, the VIPS Law Blog under the aegis of VSLLS, VIPS is honoured to host Mr. Tariq Khan, Registrar IAMC and Former Partner at Advani Law for our Introductory Session on Legal Research and Writing.
The session is scheduled for 19th February at 3 PM.

About the Speaker
Tariq Khan is currently working as the Registrar of the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre. He is a former Partner of a leading arbitration law firm in India. He has been practising as an advocate primarily in the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court of India.
He has significant experience in domestic and international arbitrations, commercial disputes, writs, MSME disputes, Insolvency & Bankruptcy cases and arbitration-related litigation. He has been listed in the Forbes Legal Powerlist, 2020-2021 as one of the top individual lawyers below ten years of practice and was the youngest lawyer listed in BW (Business World) Legal 40 under 40, 2020. He has been recognized as an arbitration Expert by SCCOnline and has more than 50 publications to his credit. He also qualified to the conference round of Judge Advocate General, Indian Army.
Tariq is skilled in international and domestic arbitrations, MSME disputes, writs, commercial, employment, insolvency and bankruptcy laws. He represented some of the biggest global players in various disputes including construction, supply, joint venture, oil & gas, infrastructure and renewable energy space. Also, represented leading domestic players in high-stake project disputes involving issues relating to defective works, breach of contract, loss of profits, liquidated damages, prolongation, escalation, delay, indemnities and illegal termination of a contract.
He has experience in handling arbitration-related litigation like the appointment of arbitrators, injunctions, interim reliefs, removal and substitution of arbitrators, challenging of arbitral awards, enforcement of awards etc. in various courts of India.
He is frequently invited to speak in various law conferences and events by domestic bar associations, law schools, alternative dispute resolution centres amongst other organizations. He has been teaching arbitration as a guest faculty for the past seven years in some of the prominent law schools of India.
