About NLSIU
The National Law School of India University, the country’s most prestigious law school,was established by a Notification issued under the National Law School of India University Act (Karnataka Act 22 of 1986).The UGC, the Government of India, the Government of Karnataka, the Department of Women and Child Development, UN agencies, the World Bank, HIVOS, the Department of Justice, and others have all financed research initiatives at the Law School. The projects have improved research and teaching at the Law School. Since its founding, the National Law School of India University has taken proactive initiatives to organise conferences, seminars, workshops, refresher courses, and certificate courses to keep academicians, law teachers, students, and industry employees up to date on a variety of topics.

The Christ Academy Group of Institutions is the product of the Devamatha Province’s efforts to serve society in the sphere of education in conformity with the CMI dream and vision. CAIL’s objective is to be a cutting-edge global centre of excellence in legal education, research, and policy analysis, catalysing legal reforms necessary to successfully serve the needs of India’s common people through its graduates and new ideas.
The event is organised by Christ Academy Institute of Law, Bengaluru in association with Centre for Environmental Law, Education Research and Advocacy (CEERA), National Law School of India University, Bengaluru (NLSIU) under the aegis of the Chair on Urban Poor and the Law, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
About CEERA
The Ministry of Environment and Forest (MOEF&CC), Government of Karnataka, the Bar and the Bench in India and overseas are all supporters of the Centre for Environmental Law Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA), which was founded in 1997. CEERA’s key goals include creating an environmental law database, successfully networking among all stakeholders, establishing an environmental law community, and conducting environmental policy research.
About the Event
Public Policy is the tool of the executive to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of the Constitutional Framers. Policy drafting and policy formulation are regarded as the primary step of any planning process for development. Participation of citizens while drafting a policy is very pertinent, especially in a democracy like ours as it is believed that democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
In order to inculcate a sense of participation in policy-making among the youth, Christ Academy Institute of Law, Bengaluru in association with CEERA, NLSIU under the aegis of the Chair on Urban Poor and the Law, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India is organizing a Policy Case Drafting Competition.

Eligibility
The Policy Drafting competition is open for all the students enrolled in 5-year or 3-year LL.B and LL.M
programme. There is no cap on registration on number of teams from a college / University.
A team shall be composed of two students only

The registration fee for a team is INR 200 (Rs. Two Hundred Only), Interested participants may register by
filling in the google form – the link for which is provided below. All registrations shall be done latest by
February 25th 2022.

Submission Guidelines
1. The language of the submission should be in English.
2. The word limit of Policy Submission should be between 3000-4000 words, exclusive of footnotes.
3. The draft shall not reveal the identity of the participants, whatsoever. For submission, a team code shall be given by organisers which shall be the mark of identity.
The submission of the draft policy is to be made to public.policy@calaw.in to be sent on or before 14th March 2022, 11:59 PM with the subject line “Public Policy Case Submission”.
